Cemetery has been buried by Development of Statesville Housing Authority.

Stearns Temple / Baptist Church was built on East Washington Street, now Raleigh Avenue in Sunnyside area of Statesville for Georgia born "colored" who came for employment opportunities. Apparently the number of non natives was large and creation of Stearns Temple / Baptist Church reduced tension between groups.

"Buried History" page 1, 3A:
Family members "are among the dozens of people buried somewhere in a 3 to 5 acre sliver between Adams Street and the railroad tracks.".
The aging burial site was tended until the early 1970s. Why the cemetery was unprotected by anti-desecration laws is unclear. A marker listing those buried there has been discussed.
