Funeral service for Pearl F. Borowiak, 87, of Fairmont, will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Kevin Connolly officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in East Chain.

Pearl died Friday, November 21, 2003 at her home in Fairmont. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Lakeview Funeral Home.
Pearl Frances Wegner, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Werling) Wegner was born November 21, 1916 near Armstrong, IA. She attended country school near the Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain. They farmed for eight years before moving into Fairmont. In 1950, they moved to Silver Lake Township and farmed until 1960, at which time they moved back to Fairmont. Pearl worked at the William Budd Elementary School as a Kitchen Aide frpm 1969 to 1982. Sylvester passed away on June 8, 1984. Pearl was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, V. F. W. Post #1222 Auxillary, Lee C. Prentice American Legion Auxillary, Merry Makers Club and the Forever 50 Club. She greatly enjoyed being with her family and friends, walking, gardening, canning and baking.

She is survived by four children, Ray Borowiak and wife, Sandi, of California, Rosie Kaatz of Las Vegas, Gene Borowiak and wife, Marcia, of Fairmont, Carol Carlson and husband, Chuck, of Fairmont; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Velda Sathoff of Armstrong, Florence Pytleski of Fairmont, Fern Nawrocki of Fairmont, Gladys Mart and husband, Clinton, of Armstrong. Lillian Johnson of Fairmont, Jean Sathoff of Fairmont, Arlene Wegener of Fairmont, Dorothy Johnson of Armstrong; one brother, Donald Wegner of Armstrong; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Wegner and Jean Brockman of Fairmont; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvester, she is also preceded in death bu one son-in-law, Bill Kaatz; two sisters, Luella Hansen and Norma Jorgensen; three brothers, Earl, Clyde and Robert Wegner.
