Leonard A. Boedigheimer, age 98, of Perham, MN, died Friday, May 06, 2011, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.

Leonard was born on October 10, 1912, in Perham, MN, the son of William and Mary (Schornack) Boedigheimer. He attended St. Henry's grade school, Perham, and one year at Perham High School. On January 24, 1938, Leonard was united in marriage to Thelma M. Haapala in Perham. Leonard worked on the ALCAN highway as a dragline operator. He returned to Perham where he was employed for over twenty-five years at Land O' Lakes, first as a truck driver, then as plant engineer, until his retirement.

In his free time, Leonard's unlimited interests included golf, gardening, baking bread, and making sausage. He loved fishing and hunting, was a pool shark and avid card player. Leonard was also a very devoted caregiver to his wife, Thelma, visiting her every day in the nursing home until her death.

Surviving Leonard is one son, Don, Brainerd, MN; daughters, Sister Ruth, OSB, St. Cloud, MN, Peg (Ted) Riddering, Barnesville, MN, and Paula (Ron) Beckman, Cameron, WI; daughter-in-law, Julie Boedigheimer, Harwood, ND; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Leonard in death are his parents; sons, Jerry and Pete; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter and daughter-in-law, Mary Boedigheimer.
