W.C. "Wink" Bowman, 85, of Remington, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was born January 22, 1916 in Monticello to Harold H. and Ada (Peck) Bowman.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be private.
Richard-Loy & Clapper Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of the arrangements.

W.C. "Wink" Bowman
W.C. "Wink" Bowman, 85, of Remington, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was born January 22, 1916 in Monticello to Harold H. and Ada (Peck) Bowman. He graduated from Remington High School in 1934.
He attended Butler University and Saint Joseph's College before enlisting in the Air Force.
While waiting to be called, he played professional basketball.
On May 24, 1942, he married Florence Talley in Columbus, Ind. She survives.
His military service included a tour on anti-submarine patrol and a year in the 9th Air Force as a combat pilot in the European Theater. He earned an Air Medal with four oak leaves and gained the rank of captain.
He ended his service as a co-pilot in the Air Transport Command, being discharged in April of 1945.
After graduating from Terre Haute Watchmaking School, he worked for 26 years in Bowman's jewelry. For 11 years, he was employed by the Indiana State Highway Department, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Remington, and for many years was a member of the Curtis Creek County Club in Rensselaer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Scott Bowman of Remington and Craig Bowman of Sarasota, Florida, as well as two grandchildren, Raymond and Melisa Bowman in Sarasota.
A brother, Dean P. Bowman of Chattanooga, Tennesse and a sister, Alice Catherine Williamson of Morocco and his parents preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be private.
