Dessie (Rooney) Pettigrew Cannon, 98, of Lyman, passed away on April 7, 2013 at The Cottages at Brushy Creek.

Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie McSwain Pettigrew and Mary Hall Pettigrew and the widow of Ralph W. Cannon.

She was retired from M. Lowenstein and was a member of Lyman First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Cannon (Marty) of Lyman, Gary Cannon (Sara) of Duncan; three grandsons, David Cannon (Michelle), Michael Cannon, and Travis Cannon (Susan); six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Aubree, Haley, and Gracie Cannon, and Steven Kelly; and sister, Joye Berman.

Mrs. Cannon was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Wood Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Gideon Long.

Visitation will follow the service at the gravesite.

The families are at their respective homes.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
