Mrs J. Ervin Parris

Mrs. J Ervin Parris, 91, of Alexander, Leicester Highway, Alexander, died Friday in an Asheville hospital after a short illness.

A lifeong resident of the Alexander community she was a daughter of Frank Haney and Sarah Rogers Haney.
Surviving are the husband J. Ervin Parris, Three daughters, Mrs Jennie Sluder, Mrs Ora Sluder and Mrs Lillian Redmon ; four sons Dennis V. and Tony J. Parris of Alexander, Glen E. and Clayton Parris of Asheville. 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Baptist Church of which she was a member. The Rev. Joe Honeycutt, Rev. Bennie Wade, and Rev. Fred Pegg will officiate. Burial will be in French Broad cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne, Johnny, Eugene and Grady Parris Larry and Van Sluder and Bruce Redmon.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sautrday a West Funeral Home, Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour before the service.
