Alexander-- Mary Jane Ammons Haney, 96, of 200 Curtis Parker Road, died Wednesday, Jan 21 1998.
Mrs Haney was born Oct 8 1901, in Buncombe County where she was a life long resident. A daughter of the late Marion and Martha Martin Parris. She was the wife of the late Porter Ammons who died in 1926 and the late Horace Haney who died in 1971. She was precided in death by a daughter, Grace Ammons and a granddaughter, Carolyn Ratcliff.
Serviving are her daughters, Pearlie Radcliff of Leicester, Sue McMahon of Alexander, sons, Leroy Ammons of Fletcher, C.S. Haney of Kingsport Tennessee, Riley Haney of Alexander, 16 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in French Broad Missionary Church of which she was a member, with the Revs. Howard Self, Jeff Haney, Anthony Fox and Joe Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:20 p.m.Thursday at West Funeral Home, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to service. At other times the family will be at the residence.
