Darwin James Kerr passed away during the night on February 20, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on June 13, 1931 to the late James and Lillian Kerr, in Crested Butte, Colorado.
Darwin Attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, where he received his bachelor’s degree. Darwin joined the United States Navy in 1951, serving in the Korean War. After separation from the military, Darwin started his long career in the airline industry. He worked for Frontier Airlines and Havasu Regional Airport as manager.
On November 3, 1977 Darwin was married to Marquitta JoAnn McFarlin in Montrose, Colorado. The two spent 38 beautiful years together.
In his free time Darwin enjoyed snow skiing, hunting, fishing, and most of all flying. He was a member of the Lake Havasu City DAV and the genealogy society.
Darwin is survived by his loving wife, Marquitta; sons, Glenn (Julie), Neal, and Ed (Lucy) Walker; daughters, Trudy Hall (Brian) and Janice Lynn White; sister, Wanda Taylor (Regan); seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela Walker Santarelli; and niece Cindy Taylor
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Lake Havasu Baptist Church. Darwin will be put to rest in Spokane, Washington. Donations may be made in Darwin’s name to the charity of your choice.
