He was at "Forty-Fort" during the Wyoming Massacre as a young boy. He married his first cousin Lucy, daughter of Silas & Keziah Yarrington Gore.
At the age of 19, he moved to Sheshequin with his father, and was associated with him in nearly all of his business transactions.
