This cemetery is located kind of behind the Cleveland Memorial Cemetery. It is
south of highway NC-150 about one mile east of Boiling Springs, NC. The
cemetery is about 250 yards off the east side of a farm road at a point .7
mile off highway NC-150. It appears to be about one acre in size with most of
the graves marked with fieldstones, some of which have initials cut into them
and can still be read.

BURL BLANTON GRAVEYARD
[Handwritten notes: John Dalton graveyard instead of Burl. Incorrect,
this is the John Blanton Cemetery. John was the son of Burwell Blanton,
Rev. War Soldier b(uried) about a mile S.E.]
This cemetery is situated in Cleveland County, N.C. in No. 2 Township 2
miles east of Boiling Springs on the lands of Prof. O. P. Hamrick, and
is about 7 miles southwest of Shelby, about ½ mile south of Boiling
Springs-Shelby Tar and Gravel road No. 84, ½ mile west of Beaver Dam
Creek. It lies about 300 ft. north of the Burl Blanton old house still
standing and apparently over 100 years old. The cemetery is about 60
feet square.

Unmarked graves: 50
Earliest marked grave: T. B., d. Nov. 22, 1835
Condition: The cemetery is grown up in large bushes and is apparently abandoned.
