Advertised and let to the lowest bidder to do the work. I wish good head and foot stones put to all my children that is dead and them that will die with proper letters to be paid for out of my estate."
Kate Jacques, Cemetery Researcher states:
"While identifiable as a cemetery, the graveyard has become a victim of time - a few large monument bases are visible, but anything with a name on it has sunk below ground. What remains is on a traffic island in a cul-de-sac at the end of Horn St in the Rolling Hills subdivision of Lawrenceburg. The plat and description for the subdivision identify the cemetery as 'Taylor Heirs'."
A 1945 transcription describes the graveyard as being nearly a mile west of Lawrenceburg and about 300 yards south of the Glensboro Rd (Hwy 44) and that Grayson and his wife Catherine were buried there along with 6 of their 16 children between 1845-1881: Henrietta, James, Mary wife of Lewis Walker, John, Richard, and Benjamin.
Susan B Hutson adds: "there may be 2 other graves with no stones.
~ Grayson & Catherine's youngest child, an unnamed 3 month old daughter (1855), is probably buried here.
~ A Confederate soldier, known only as Smith, may also rest here. He was killed by Union Soldiers while escaping Lawrenceburg with notorious Confederate guerilla Richard Taylor.
