|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Catedral de São Sebastião of Rio de Janeiro was built between 1964 and 1979, replacing a series of old churches which served as Cathedrals since 1676. Located in the center of the city, it has an overall height of 75 metres and a capacity of 20,000 people. The Crypt has some 25,000 niches intended for the use of locals, while the center is reserved for Bishops and Cardinals. There are currently 2 Cardinals buried there, Jaime de Barros Câmara (1894 - 1971), and Eugênio de Araújo Sales (1920 - 2012), and one Bishop, Dom Ivo Antônio Calliari (1918 - 2005), who took care of the Cathedral's construction.
