Photo requests for St. Louis No. 1 in New Orleans can no longer be freely obtained. In response to vandalism and other crimes, the cemetery has been closed to free public access. You must prove you are a relative of someone buried there or be part of a paid tour group. This is the cemetery where infamous voodoo queen Marie Laveau and many other historical persons are buried. Marie Laveau's grave has been repeatedly defaced and damaged, and the cemetery had become the scene of many assaults on visitors. Hence, closure to the general public.
