A Grade-II listed medieval parish church, it was much restored in the mid-1800s, at which time the porch was added. The church has an unusual shape, as the chancel and north transepts are not in alignment with the rest of the building. A 1983 excavation around nave confirmed that the St. John Chapel, in the position of a north transept, was a later addition to the 13th century nave.
