The Bethel Associate Presbyterian Church was organized Oct. 12, 1850 and with it, a country church burying ground, now known as Swanwick Bethel Cemetery. The first grave in the cemetery was in May 1850, before the congregation was actually organized. The cemetery is located about 1/2 mile East of Swanwick, in Perry County, Illinois, on State Highway 13.
