There are two parts to this cemetery, the original located next to the Maternity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 308 E Marsile St, Bourbonnais, IL, and the more recent at Canterbury Lane and Bristol Drive, Bourbonnais, IL.
Pierre Lami was buried next to the Bourbonnais Maternity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church in August, 1842. It is believed, however not been confirmed, that he is still buried next to the church, but the records are no longer available. Over time many of the headstones in this section were lost. In addition, because of weathering, the engravings on most of the headstones are now illegible.
Most of the burials after 1885 were in the Canterbury Lane cemetery, but a few were still buried in the church yard until the turn of the century.
Current church burial records do not properly identify the exact burial placement for either cemetery.
This cemetery now comes under the auspices of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet, with a Family Service Center located 1839 W State Rte 102, Bourbonnais IL 60914 - 815.933.2342, and they will provide grave location assistance.
