There was a Methodist Class in the village of Edenburg (now spelled Edinburg) as early as 1802 on lot numbered 16 with the deed dated June 1, 1826. The deed read: "From James Park of Mercer County and his wife, Elizabeth, to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church and their successors as Trustees forever."
Jonathan Biddle was found to have a lien on the lot granted to the Trustees to build their Church. Biddle decided "that it was for the furtherance of the Gospel and the cause of religion" and gave a release and forever quit claim to his right and title to the lot in the town of Edenburg.
This land was originally purchased from the Indians on October 23, 1784, after which old Panpanka and Mohigan and the rest of the left their village called Kuskuska.
The first burial in the Edinburg Methodist Cemetery was Arney Biddle in 1825; the last was Margaret Needler in 1938.
In 1991, there were numerous unmarked graves, missing and broken headstones. The rows of stones were uneven. The cemetery was not mowed or maintained. In 2013, the property is privately owned. The cemetery is unmarked and has no entry sign.
