Initial services were held in a tavern which moved outdoors when the weather improved. A lot was presented to the M E. Church by Christian E. Spangler of Philadelphia who was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. The lot size was 100' by 300' deep which was sufficient for a church and graveyard. The cornerstone for the church was laid 20 October 1846. On 03 August 1903, the church building was destroyed and a new building erected on the existing foundation. Construction was completed on 25 September 1904 at a cost of $13.701.01.

Burials in Tremont can be quite confusing. Death certificates may only indicate Tremont without specifying which one of the four cemeteries. Frequently obituaries will list a specific cemetery. Contributor Mosslady photographed this cemetery in addition to St. John's Lutheran, St. Peters Evangelical and Reformed and Most Blessed Trinity. Existing memorials were audited for correct placement in November 2022. Plot maps were obtained for these cemeteries with the exception of Most Blessed Trinity.
