Tennessee Point Cemetery actually contains three cemeteries -- the rear section is the original Tennessee Point Cemetery; the southeast section is the Black Walnut Addition; and the southwest section, Briggs Section, contains Briggs Cemetery, which was moved there around 1930 from previous location on R.W. & Charlotte Briggs' farm in Elm Grove Township, Tazewell County, Illinois. [Source: Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society website, Tazewell County, Illinois] According to a newspaper article contributed by John Hazelman, Briggs Cemetery was moved around 1930 to Tennessee Point Cemetery by John B. Kuhn, a Clinton, Illinois, man. David Eaton [see FaG memorial in this cemetery] of Normal hired him to move the cemetery, laid out exactly as it had been on the farm in Elm Grove Township.
