The Monedig Presbyterian meeting house, as described in the Ordnance Memoirs of Ireland dated 1835, is 2-storeys with side walls 22 feet high. the body of the house is 47 and a half by 39 feet in the clear and is lighted by 18 windows. There is also a hall with 2 doors and lighted by 5 windows in the gable. It is estimated that it will accommodate between 800 and 1,000 adults. the total cost of building will be about 500 pounds, one-half which is already expended. The building materials were found at the place. The cost of the building is to be raised by subscription. The honourable the Irish Society have promised 50 pounds and 50 pounds by mr. James Jameson and 50 pounds by mr. John Adams of aghadowey. (Transcribed by Charles and Lavonne Bradfield and Charles Magil Bradfield August 1998).
