Trenant Chapel was opened as a Bryanite meeting house in August 1826. It was renovated in 1883. The cemetery was opened in 1843 in response to the refusal of the C of E to bury children baptised as Bible Christians. The last burial was supposed to be in about 1960 but the burial records are lost so the last memorial seen today is from 1948. The chapel is now a private house. Trenant is a hamlet about 2 miles east of St Neot. The lanes are very narrow and should be approached with care. A survey of the Burial ground was undertaken in 1989 by John Rapson and Robert Jago. Many of the inscriptions were more visible then and these have been repeated verbatim. A few are impossible to read now (July 2015).
