Old Berry - McCann Cemetery

James McCann is also buried here but his tombstone was apparently removed by
McCann descendants to the Woodland Cemetery in Jefferson City, Missouri in the
1970s. Mary Ann's birth and death info was supposed to have been added to this
tombstone at that time. When this cemetery was restored in 2004 by the Berry
Family and a group of Cole County Old Cemetery restoration volunteers, Mary Ann
McCann's tombstone was discovered half-buried in the ground and reset.
Milly Isom was born Camilla Ann Berry. Her husband Richard Isom moved back to Virginia after her death and married Mary Brakens. On the 1860 cenus Richard and Milly's children were living with Milly's family on the 1860 census: Sarah b. ca 1852 and John b. ca 1853 with John & Nancy Berry; Lewis Clark b. ca 1857 with Milly's brother Lewis Clark Berry.
A small stone base was found indicating a grave but no matching headstone was
found. (This may be grave of Minnie Philips-d/o W. P. and Arizona Philips; d.
Aug 22, 1878; age 5 days-as listed in the "Cemeteries in Cole County, Missouri
as recorded in the 1930s-Part 1 listed under "Burying ground on the Old John
Berry Farm". This book also states "....which included more Berrys and Isoms
than listed above as well as tree-to-five young McCann grandchildren."
There are verses transcribed on the tombstones of Mary Ann McCann and Myrtle L.
McCann. Mary Ann "Polly" McCann's maiden name was Duvall.
