Administered by Sacred Heart Cathedral Yokohama, the seat of the bishop of Yokohama, this cemetery is adjacent to Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery.
Motomachi station on the blue subway line is closest. From Motomachi station take the escalators up to America Park. Continue uphill, straight out the park exit. At the top of the hill, turn right, and walk past the main gate of Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery. Keep right, go downhill a bit, and the cemetery entrance is on the right across from Motomachi Park.
This area was the campsite for American, British, and French soldiers in the 1800s when they first invaded Japan. Besides America Park, another park near the cemetery has a harbour overlook and rose garden, probably the initial British encampment. Adjoining the overlook is French Park, with ruins of an early French Consulate. A green, wooded path down from French Park leads to Yamashita Park, which leads to Motomachi station and one end of 'China Town'. The high street is pedestrian only on Sundays and holidays. There are lots of boutiques, craft shops, and cafes. At the other end of China Town is Ichikawacho Japan Rail station.
