|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Opened in 1893/1894 for members of the Russian-Orthodox church community in Berlin. 4,000 thousand tons of earth were brought in from various parts of Russia so that persons could be buried in their home soil. Most graves are in an east-west orientation, according to the Orthodox tradition. The central chapel is roughly patterned on St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. Among others, several prominent Russian emigrants from the time following the revolution are buried here. The cemetery is still active and has about 20 burials per year.
