Lauren attended the University of Connecticut, then getting her master's degree in teaching from the University of Bridgeport. She became a permanent substitute teacher with Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Fall of 2012.

Lauren was a victim of the tragic events which took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
