Bridget was born in Cloonagh, Cloonfrilough, County Roscommon, Ireland, and emigrated to the United States from Queenstown on the Campania, which sailed on 7 August 1898. In the 1900 census she is listed as being a servant in Kings County, NY. She joined the Sisters of Charity within the next two years and devoted her life to hospital work where she was well-liked and well-respected by all who knew her. She was a member of the Sisters of Charity order at Mount St. Vincent, and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in West New Brighton, Staten Island for 12 years. She passed away there at the age of 72 after waging a fierce battle to recover from a stroke. Sister Zita, as she was known to her peers and the community, had become a US citizen in 1933. Prior to her work at St. Vincent's she was at St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers, and St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn.

Sister of Michael Thomas Croghan and Mary Conroy

Buried with other members of her order, but none of their names are on the marker.
