26 May 1932: A.S. Wormood Dies, To Hold Rites Today: Alfred S. Wormood, 77, of 325 South Spring street, died yesterday morning following a lingering illness. He had resided in Springfield fifty-two years. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. Herbert W. Hines at the Thomas C. Smith Sons funeral chapel. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Mr. Wormood came to Springfield in 1880 from Dubuque, Ia., where he lived in his early childhood. Lyons, N.Y. was his birthplace. For 25 years he was in the wholesale watch business, prior to which he was with the Illinois Watch company. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary Wormood; two daughters, Mrs. Mark Foutch of this city, and Mrs. Joseph Winterbotham of Winnetka; a sister, Mrs. M.M. Dumble of Buffalo, New York; and five grandchildren, Mark, Mary and Edward Louis Foutch of this city, and Marjorie and Joseph Winterbothem of Winnetka. [Illinois State Journal]
