Mrs. Mary Harlan, widow of Brig. Gen. Emory B. Harlan, died last night at the residence, South Sixth street. She was 91 years old. Her name before she was married on July 4, 1884, to General Harlan at Salem, was Mary A. Craundwell [note: spelled Crundwell on death certificate.]
General Harlan was prominently identified with the military and political history of Illinois and was one of the leaders of Springfield's social life.
Surviving Mrs. Harlan are one son, Edgar A. Harlan, with whom she made her home, and two sisters, Mrs. Emily C. Baker, of this city, and Mrs. Lena Huggins, of Kinmundy.
