U.S. Congressman. Born the son of U.S. Senator Stephen Row Bradley, he attended Yale College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1802 and commenced to practice law in Westminster, Vermont. He was prosecuting attorney for Windham County, (1804-11), a member of the Vermont State House of representatives, (1806-07, 19) and a member of the Governor’s council in 1812. In 1813, he was elected as a Republican to the Thirteenth Congress, serving until 1815. After his term, he was an agent of the United States under the treaty of Ghent to fix the boundary line between Maine and Canada, (1815-20). He was again elected as an Adams-Clay Republican to the Eighteenth Congress and as an Adams to the Nineteenth Congress, serving (1823-27). After leaving Congress, he practice of law and was a member of the Vermont State House of Representatives, in 1850.
