I love your book "Little Women" and the way it made me feel. I enjoyed visiting your home in Concord, Massachusetts. Orchard House still carries memories of you.

Little Women remains my favorite book of all time. You were such an amazing and inspiring woman, Louisa. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. It is one that keeps giving over one hundred years later.

"Sprit of Life, mystery of death: We trust that beyond the absence: There is a presence. That beyond the pain: There can be healing. That beyond the brokenness: There can be new kind of wholeness. That beyond the silence: There may be the understanding. And that beyond the understanding: There is love. Blessed Be. Amen"

My grandmother said that she would be remiss if she didn't have me read "Little Women." She was right. Years later, I gave it to my daughter to read. I hope she passes it down to her daughter.

I have read Little Women many times over the last half century, and completed it again yesterday. I marvel at the freshness of it! I felt again the power of the narrative and the characters created by Louisa May Alcott. Reading it always makes me want to be a better sister, mother and friend. My wish is that my granddaughters will love this great work of fiction as I have loved it, and share it lovingly with their daughters and granddaughters in turn.

To honor your life and work. Your beautifully drawn characters have meant much to me from the time I first picked up my grandmother's copy of "Little Women" one summer when I was about 12. I didn't put it down until I finished it.
