Brenden was born on Feb. 21, 1963 in East St. Louis, IL, raised in the St. Louis area and was wed to Angela Kay McMillon in Monroe, LA on Oct. 4, 1986. Loving father of Benjamin Frederick and Jacob Robert.
Brenden was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and took pride in his work. He was a true craftsman and artist who could find beauty and value in objects long after others had discarded them. He was of happy heart, strong mind and genuine character. His biggest joy in life was his family. Although he was taken too soon, the lives of those who knew and loved him are richer because of him.
A proud man, he loved life almost as much as he loved his family. He was never afraid to live life to its fullest and took every opportunity to do so. He is fondly remembered by all as having a loud booming voice, questionable fashion sense, and a talent for stirring up mischief, though it was all in good fun.
In addition to being a loving and supportive member of the Weir family, Brenden achieved many things including building his own house from the ground up, being an active and accomplished member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville IL, traveling out of the country to help build houses for the poor, and helping the family trivia team to victory after victory.
On May 5, 2006 Brenden was doing some work on the house of a friend of the family. He fell from three stories up and passed away on the way to the hospital, presumably of internal bleeding. His father Brian, who had been working with him that day, was by his side.
He is survived by his wife Angie, sons Ben and Jacob, parents Brian and Cece, siblings Brian (wife Jeanne), Chris (wife Kathy), Nick (wife Katy), Killian, Ted, Shannon (husband Tom), and Maureen (husband Eric). Nieces and nephews include Kristina (husband Jason), Taylor, Joey, Andy, Lauren, Ian, Kellen, Luke, Bridget Ann, Chip, Erin, Nicky, Sam, Bridget Rose, and great-nephew Myles. Just 7 days after his death, a great-niece, Lydia, was born. In September 2007, a friend of the family named her newborn after Brenden as a lasting tribute.
He was preceded in death by niece Keiley Weir, paternal grandparents Joseph and Ann Weir, and maternal grandparents Fred and Rose Peskar.
Brenden's wife Angie agreed to allow Brenden to become an organ and tissue donor. Because of that selfless choice, his eyes, heart, liver, kidneys, skin, and bones have helped up to 75 people live normal, productive lives. His family is proud, just as he would be, that he is still helping others.
He is greatly missed and not a day goes by that his memory is not looked upon with a smile. He is still very much loved.
