Claude Epperson In City 36 Years
Claude W. Epperson, 62, of 1548 N. Clarence, prominent Wichita businessman, died Thursday morning at St. Francis Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1898, at Augusta, Kan., he had been a resident of Wichita for 36 years. He was married to Margaret Norton June 6, 1926, at Las Vegas, N.M.
He was owner of Epperson Drug Co., a county commissioner from 1940 to 1942, and held memberships in many local organizations including Albert Pike Lodge AF and AM 303, Wichita Consistory, Midian Shrine, High 12, Midian Arab Patrol, Kansas Pharmaseutical Assn., South Central Pharmaseutical Assn., National Assn. of Retail Druggists, YMCA, Wichita Independent Businessmen's Assn. and American Bowling Congress. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors besides the wife include one daughter, Luzella Strain, Long Beach, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Swindell, 625 W. Central; one sister, Mrs. Grayce Tomlinson, 756 S. Broadview; one half-brother, Charles L. Warrender, 2232 N. Yale, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be announced by Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home.
