Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Indian Wars as a Sergeant in Company L, 8th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in action in Arizona from August to October 1868. His citation reads simply "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians". His Medal was issued on July 24, 1869.
