Helen DeSpain, 98, of Lubbock went to be with her Lord and Savior, May 10, 2007. Helen Irene was born March 16, 1909, in Enid, Okla., to the late Russell and Nellie (Reynolds) Scott. She married William Harry DeSpain, who preceded Helen in death, Aug. 11, 1989. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of The First Christian Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert DeSpain, Carolyn Molsbee and husband Neil, and Connie Berly and husband Tim, all of Lubbock. She has one brother, Russell (Blinky the Clown) Scott of Denver Colo., nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. DeSpain will be Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Resthaven Memorial Park, with Rev. John Ballard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, they suggest memorials to Odyssey Health Care, 4601-66th, Lubbock, TX 79414 or the hospice of your choice.
