Major League Baseball Player. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he made his debut as a left handed pitcher for the Detroit Wolverines on May 3, 1883. After one season, he joined the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds of the Union Association League and pitched a no-hitter against the Kansas City Cowboys, August 26, 1884. In 1885, he signed with the St. Louis Maroons, playing 14 games in the outfield and pitched once in a relief appearance. He ended his career with 25-27 win loss record, 199 strike outs and 3.07 earned run average. At the plate, he had 145 hits, 26 doubles, 14 triples, 4 homeruns, 9 runs batted in and a .267 batting average.
