French Courtier, Aristocrat. Born to Royal blood in Italy, she moved to France and became the best friend of Queen Marie Antoinette. During the French Revolution, she was imprisoned for refusing to sign an oath against the monarchy. Eventually, she was delivered to the mobs in Paris and brutally murdered. Her death touched off what is now known as the September Massacres. It is unknown what happened to her body. Her head was put on a spike and placed in front of Marie Antoinette's prison cell. It was later buried in a common grave at the Cimetiere des Enfants-Trouvés.
