US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1919 and commenced the practice of law in Chicago, Illinois. From 1921 to 1923, he was assistant State Attorney of Cook County and was an officer for Illinois Commerce Commission in 1947, 1948, 1955, and 1956. In 1957, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-fifth Congress and served until 1959. An unsuccessful candidate for re-election, he resumed legal practice and was appointed to the Chicago Regional Export Expansion Council in 1970, serving until his death in 1974.
