Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Wilson Blas will conduct the Mass.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1936 in Greenville, the son of Ralph Fielding Lipford and Alpene Nelms Lipford. He was a 1955 graduate of Bonham High School and attended the Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Lan began his career in radio at the age of 16 while attending high school in his hometown of Bonham, Texas, where he worked for KFYN as a disc jockey. Over the years, he became a legendary Top 40 on-air personality in Dallas, New Orleans, Seattle, Honolulu, and Taipei, Taiwan with stints in San Francisco and Los Angeles and feature engagements in South Africa. Lan had additional responsibilities as operations manager for several of the radio stations. His witty, creative, and humorous segments on his show endeared him to his listeners many of whom consider themselves to be his faithful fans even to this day. He lived life to the fullest and inspired others to do the same.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Lipford in 2004.
Pallbearers will be Roger Harris, Willis Duff, Howard Case, Bob Nunnelee Sr., Russell Nunnelee and Bob Nunnelee, Jr.
There will be a wake at the Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
