She looked like a 1940's movie star, but it was her inner beauty that will be so missed by her family. She worked in a factory, during the war, married and had one child, a daughter. She had grown up in a small town in Oktaha, Oklahoma and moved to Antioch, California in the early 1950's. She was the third child and daughter to Jewel and Jake Candler. They had 14 children in all, 9 of which lived to be adults.
