Bee (Myrtle Beatrice) was born & raised on the family farm in Lake Park, Minnesota. She lived there until her late teens, when she moved to St. Paul. She worked briefly for the local telephone company and then, in 1929, married Fred Anderson, whom she met at the Prom in St. Paul. Together they raised four children, Sally, Rick, Pat, and Cookie (Judie). She also suffered two miscarriages. She and Fred lived in several homes in St. Paul over the years, never owning their own house. She was a homemaker who enjoyed outdoor activities and playing cards and going to the lake with her family. She also liked to talk about politics. She preferred to live in the city after living on farms during her childhood.
