Redmond Mourns Death of Amelia Anderson


Funeral Services Tuesday For Mother of Twelve


Funeral services were held Tuesday Afternoon at 2 p.m., in the Redmond ward chapel for Mrs. Amelia Maria L. Anderson, who died late Friday evening from a lingering illness. Mrs. Anderson had been confined to her bed for the past 16 months.

Bishop Wilford Rasmussen presided at the services, and the friends and relatives, who had gathered to pay their last respects to one of the community's honored citizens. The many beautiful flowers, surrounding the casket, were tokens of the high esteem held for Mrs. Anderson.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Kenard Anderson, Kirk Anderson, Jackie Anderson, Willis Poulsen, Burton Allred and Wendel Mason. Honorary pallbearers were six other grandsons, Paul Anderson, Lowell Allred, Therral Mason, Royal Christensen, Mervell Anderson, and Bryce Poulsen.

Mrs. Anderson was born at Ephraim, the daughter of Oluff and Anna Larson. She made Ephraim her home until marrying Andrew P. Anderson, at which time the couple came to Redmond, where they made their home, with the exception of five years spent in Salt Lake. She was a member of the LDS church, and active in the Relief Society.

Mrs. Anderson was the mother of 12 children, nine of whom survive. They are: Oluff Anderson, Murrell Anderson, Mrs. Melree Poulsen and Mrs. Lillian Allred, Redmond; Mrs. Alida Mason, Aurora; Lunden Anderson, Forest Hill, Calif.; Mrs. Esther Parry, Nevada City, Calif.; Mrs Vera Christensen, Augurn, Calif.; 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Among those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mrs. Oluff Larsen and Enoch Cornea, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs George Graham, Bountiful; Mrs. Lyman Cox, Draper; Mrs. Dave Cokne, American Fork; N.P. Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Christensen, Mrs. Jack Sanderson and Mrs. Mary Larsen, Fairview; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Mortensen, Monroe; Mrs. Andrew Peterson, Richfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morrey, Joseph.

Relatives here because of the death of Mrs. Amelia Anderson, were: Mr. and Mrs. Lynden Anderson and children, Forest Hill, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Parry, Nevada City, Calif.; Mrs. Bladden Christensen and children of Auburn, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Peterson of Vernal.
