In 1940, she met and married actor William Powell, with whom she remained with for the rest of his life until his passing in 1984. Before retiring from performing in 1943, her most notable films included "It's a Gift" (1934), "Gold Diggers in Paris" (1938), "Go West" (1940), "Andy Hardy Meets Debutante" (1940) and "Johnny Eager" (1942). She died of cancer in Rancho Mirage, California.
