Queen of Portugal

Spanish and Portuguese Royalty. Born Maria de Castilla y Aragón, Infanta de Castilla at Cordoba, Spain, the daughter of Fernando II and Isabella I. She married Manõel I king of Portugal in August 1500, following her late sister, Isabella, in the role of his queen. The couple had eight surviving children including the future João III and Henrique I of Portugal. She died at age 34 at Lisbon.
