Andrew R. Hood, 21, of Gallatin, MO passed away September 30, 2010.

Andrew was born August 18, 1989 to Ron and Renee (Looney) Hood in Chillicothe, MO.

Andrew lived in Gallatin for most of his life where he graduated from Gallatin High School in 2008. He joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Andrew was currently enrolled at Vatterott College in St. Joseph, MO where he was studying for his criminal justice degree. Andrew was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved the times he could go hunting or fishing. He was truly a fan of western attire and liked to wear his western hat. Andrew enjoyed playing the guitar and spent many hours listening to music. He had a passion for writing poetry and had the privilege of having one of his poems published in Twilight Musings The International Library of Poetry. Andrew touched many lives during his short time on this earth and will forever be remember by his devoted parents, sister, grandparents and many friends.

Andrew is survived by his loving parents, Ron and Renee Hood of Gallatin; his sister, Christina Hood of Kansas City, MO; maternal grandmother, Myrlene Heldenbrand of Gallatin; paternal grandmother, Lola Brice of Reno, Nevada; an uncle, David Looney of Little Rock, Arkansas; two aunts Lori Gunther of Reno, Nevada; and Dee Holliday of Dallas, Texas. Andrew has several cousins and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.

Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Hood and maternal grandfather, Reuben Heldenbrand.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the church. Private inurnment will be held at Bethel Cemetery, near Polo, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew Hood Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin.
