Rhythm and Blues Singer and Musician. Born in Blytheville, Arkansas, he performed in local clubs, calling himself Junior Walker. He later formed a band, Junior Walker and the All Stars. Harvey Fuqua (of The Moonglows) signed Junior Walker and the All Stars in 1962 to his label "Harvey Records," which was taken over by Motown Records. From 1965 to 1970, Junior Walker and the All Stars scored many hits: "Shotgun," "How Sweet It Is," "Do the Boomerang," "(I'm A) Road Runner," "Pucker Up Buttercup," and many others. It was Autry who provided the saxophone solo for Foreigner's 1981 hit "Urgent." Junior Walker & The All Stars were the only act to record and perform with their own combo at Motown. In 1983, Junior Walker and the All Stars recorded their final album, "Blow Down the House."
