His many other film credits included "They Were Expendable" (1945), "Flight to Mars" (1951), "The Tall Men" (1955), "The Unstoppable Man" (1960), "Hombre" (1967), " My Favorite Year" (1982), and "Trapped Alive" (1993). For television he is best remembered for his roles on the Westerns "Zane Gray Theatre," "Bonanza," "Death Valley Days," "Daniel Boone," and "The High Chaparral." He served as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.
