US Congressman. He married Lydia Tuttle Harrison on 6 March 1825 in Newark. Thomas and Lydia had seven children and lived in New York City; Thomas served as a Representative from the 5th District in New York in the US House of Representatives from 1845 to 1847 and was a member of the American Party. On the 1850 census, he and Lydia are found in the eastern half of the 15th Ward of New York City. Thomas was listed as a cabinet maker in the furniture industry. He died five years later and was buried in the First Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey. All of the remains in this cemetery were moved in the late 1950s to a mass grave in a memorial garden so that the old cemetery could be paved over for a parking lot.
