Educator. Toyohachi Fujita served as a liaison between Japanese and Chinese students and authors. The Toyohachi Fujita collection of 1,7000 Japanese and Chinese books is a property of Tokyo's Bunkyo Library. He was a professor of East Asian History as well as the author of books on the subject. He went to China and taught at Beijing University after he graduated from the University of Tokyo Liberal Arts School with a degree in Chinese language studies in 1895. He died from renal failure.
