Virgie I. Brooks, 81, of Modesto died Friday at English Oaks Convalescent
Hospital. Mrs. Brooks was a native of Oklahoma. She lived in Stanislaus County 50
years. She was a licensed vocational nurse at Memorial Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Leroy Brooks of Modesto; children,
Gregory Brooks of Modesto, Randall Brooks of Oakdale and Janet Neer of
Folsom; sister, Helen Fairchild; and four grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4
p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
