U.S. Congressman. Born in New York City, he graduated from College of the City of New York, then went on to become successful in the exporting and importing trade. In 1901, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh and Fifty-eighth Congresses, serving until 1905. Declining to be a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed his former business pursuits and was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions (1908, 1912, 1916). He died at age 90 in New York City.
